The condition under which the element Sublimium, in crystalline form with Carbon, enters a state of flux pinning with a magnetic field as a high-temperature, type-II superconductor. This concept is used in Sublimium-quantum Resonance engines (SQUARES).

The surface of the planet Impendia is often cited as the largest example of this phenomenon, and even with the relative weakness of its magnetic field (only slightly stronger than Earth's own field), the interaction of Sublimium-quantum resonant material with the planet makes SQUARES, the primary method of keeping colonies and vehicles aloft, possible, while common magnets interact with this field only very weakly.
